St. Helens & South Lancashire Rail & Bus Site.

St. Helens is located in the real county of Lancashire, about 10 miles east of Liverpool and 20 miles west of Manchester. This site consists mainly of photographs of railway and bus subjects. Separate index pages are provided for the rail and bus pages. Please click a button to select the page you want to visit. A selection of non-transport photos will be added soon.

Website Archives.

A selection of older photographs from this site, plus others that I cannot fit into my space allocation, are located on a "fotopic" site. Note that the captions will necessarily be much less detailed than is possible on my main site at freeuk.com. Photos are grouped into galleries (rail, bus), each of which will eventually contain various "collections" on specific subjects or locations.

There is a rail photo. gallery at web address: http://bevan997.fotopic.net/

Subjects in the rail gallery are:

Merseyrail Electric - Wirral and Northern Lines.

Closed railways around St. Helens (Dec. 2006)

Steam (mostly) in Wales, 1964 / 1965

Closed stations in East Anglia (Nov. 2005)

Signal Boxes (Sept. 2005)

Steam in Germany (titles not yet added)

and a bus photo gallery at:   http://ushotos.fotopic.net/

(Don't ask me about these address names - they are allocated by fotopic)

To try and speed loading, this site is split into separate pages, each covering a specific area or topic. Also, some image quality has been sacrificed by using highly compressed images, rather than use large files that take ages to load.
